Inclusive Excellence Plans
Inclusive Excellence Plans (IEP) are comprehensive, unit-specific plans designed to help academic and administrative units integrate diversity, equity, and educational quality efforts into their missions and institutional operations. These plans involve developing strategies and implementing policies that ensure people from all backgrounds feel welcome and valued in the workplace or educational setting. By creating an inclusive environment, organizations can benefit from a range of perspectives and ideas, leading to more innovative solutions to problems and better overall performance. IEP may include initiatives such as hiring more diverse candidates, providing training on diversity and inclusion, and creating a culture that values and respects diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
George Mason’s Inclusive Excellence Framework is comprised of five aspirational dimensions and goals to aid us in creating collective impact, sustainable change, innovation, and productivity across the institutions’ academic and administrative units:

Resource Workshops
- Goal Setting (registration link): Available bi-monthly, this in-person workshop will provide units guidance on revising their IEP utilizing a SMART goal framework. Upon completion, units will have valuable feedback and tools to assist them in their revision steps.
