Facilitating Inclusive Practices

An Inclusive Leadership & Community Experience

This program empowers George Mason faculty and staff to cultivate an inclusive workplace environment. Participants will undergo two half-day sessions in March 2025, where participants will gain relevant knowledge of the workshop content, fundamental principles of participant-centered learning, and skills to help them deliver engaging and compelling workshops. New facilitators will be mentored through their first 2-3 workshops, ensuring a smooth transition into their role as workshop facilitators. This program fosters growth and prepares participants to lead workshops that build meaningful connections and contribute to inclusive practices within their organizations.


Application Process

Dates: Apply by January 31, 2025

Requirements: Interested applicants must

  • Have been at George Mason for over one year
  • Complete four (4) of the prerequisite workshops by May 2025
  • Attend two (2) half-day workshop sessions in March 2025
  • Be prepared to facilitate workshops by Fall 2025
  • Participate in mentorship while facilitating first 2-3 workshops

Application: Complete and submit the online application at go.gmu.edu/deitrainthefacilitator no later than January 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET. Applications will be reviewed by the Professional Development Working Group. A follow-up screening interview will be administered following the application. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by the end of February.
